Travmatik Beyin Hasarı Sıçan Modelinde Sesamol’ün İkincil Yaralanmaya Karşı Koruyucu Etkileri

Objective: Sesamol is a powerful antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antiapoptotic, and neuroprotective chemical. This study aimed to investigate the histopathological effects of sesamol in rat traumatic brain injury (TBI) model. Material Methods: Thirty-two male rats were divided into following four groups: control, trauma, vehicle, sesamol. All groups subjected TBI, immediately after trauma saline (100 mg/kg) administered intraperitoneally vehicle groups, respectively. At 24th hour samples collected, histomorphological investigation parenchyma was performed using electron light microscopy. Results:On investigation, TBI induced lesser than group. Compared group, group there less perivascular region edema. The neuronal processes also displayed intracellular edema vacuoles. Conclusion:The results current revealed for first time that exhibits against TBI.
